iParametrics Awarded LAX Tom Bradley International Terminal Project
Alpharetta, GA/Los Angeles, CA - iParametrics will join with Clark/McCarthy to
provide CPM Scheduling and Cost Management services for the Tom Bradley
International Terminal project at Los Angeles International Airport. The
$500+ million project is the first major upgrade to LAX terminals since 1984
and the single largest project issued by the City of Los Angeles.
The project for the one-million-square-foot terminal calls for interior improvements
that include upgrades to the lower/arrivals level for inbound international
passengers, fire and life safety systems, electrical system, climate control
and ventilation systems, restrooms, new elevators and escalators, as well as
accessibility for passengers with disabilities. Also included in this project
are renovations to the passenger boarding lounge and outside ramp area at Gate
123 on the north end of the terminal concourse to accommodate future new large
aircraft. In addition, approximately 45,000 square feet will be added to the
terminal to house a $140-million, in-line baggage security screening system.
The new facility is expected to reduce passenger congestion in the airline
ticketing lobbies by removing the many van-size checked-baggage security screening
machines that were installed to meet a U.S. Congressional deadline of Dec. 31,
2002, for electronic screening of all checked luggage.
The 38-month project is expected to begin early 2007 and be completed by March 2010.
The Tom Bradley International Terminal serves 34 airlines and approximately 10
million passengers annually. LAX is the fifth busiest airport in the world,
serving over 60 million passengers.
Headquartered near Atlanta, GA, iParametrics provides a broad range of engineering
and construction-related professional services to both public and private sector
clients throughout the United States. iParametrics specializes in cost
estimating, scheduling, and program management for the design and construction
industries, cost segregation services within the financial and real estate
sectors, and staff augmentation for project teams of all types.
