METRIC ENGINEERING AND IPARAMETRICS CHOSEN BY FL DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION

Metric Team Secures Emergency Debris Removal Monitoring Contract: iParametrics Plays Key Role

Atlanta-based engineering consulting company, iParametrics, will play an integral role as part of the Metric team on the Emergency Debris Removal Monitoring contract in areas involving training, debris recovery planning and response, and assistance with issues pertaining to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Seven Office making the selection is headquartered in Tampa, FL and includes the Gulf Coast counties of Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas. This five-county region covers more than 4100 square miles and has a population of 2.75 to 3 million people (2005).

A component of iParametrics' platform of services made available to Metric Engineering and FDOT District Seven under this contract is its Debris Monitor Training workshop. A comprehensive training opportunity that instructs personnel on all aspects of the duties and responsibilities of being a debris monitor, the class can be formatted to the actual monitoring personnel or to an Applicant's organic assets who would provide quality assurance oversight of the operation. The day long training is followed by a test and can be customized to meet the client's specific requirements and needs.

When asked about the contract awarded to the Metric team, iParametrics Director of Debris Services, Kirby McCrary, said, “It is a great pleasure and honor to be invited by Metric Engineering to be a part of their talented team, and we are excited to be working on this very important project.”

iParametrics was founded in 2001 to provide a singular combination of engineering-related services to both the public and private sectors worldwide. Housing a specialized staff augmentation and embedded personnel program, in addition to cost and project management, disaster relief and debris services, iParametrics, appropriately tagged “engineering solutions for a changing world”, hones in on a customized solution for each client.
