iParametrics Mobilizes Personnel in support of Hurricane Katrina
iParametrics has mobilized technical staff as part of the nation's response and recovery
to the damages caused by Hurricane Katrina. The third-strongest U.S. hurricane on record
to hit land, Katrina formed in late August and caused devastation along much of the
north-central Gulf Coast of the United States.
The storm surge and winds caused catastrophic damage along the Gulf Coast, devastating
several states including Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida. Of particular note,
the city of New Orleans was left in ruins. Levees separating Lake Pontchartrain and several
canals from New Orleans were breached by the surge, subsequently flooding 80% of the city
and many areas of neighboring parishes.
In concert with FEMA's Public Assistance program, iParametrics has mobilized technical
staff in support of recovery efforts for Hurricane Katrina. Paul Pelletier, Principal,
states "We are involved in efforts to evaluate and rebuild the critical infrastructure
in New Orleans, the State of Louisiana, as well as much of the Gulf Coast region. Our
team is playing a key role in making New Orleans livable again for the long term. We
have mobilized engineering professionals on-site, as well as cost estimators, financial
analysts, and a diverse group of other technical specialists. They are working together
on the tremendous task of rebuilding the city."
Headquartered near Atlanta, GA, iParametrics provides a broad range of engineering
and construction-related professional services to both public and private sector
clients throughout the United States. iParametrics specializes in cost estimating,
scheduling, and program management for the design and construction industries,
cost segregation services within the financial and real estate sectors, and staff
augmentation for project teams of all types.
