The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) provides programmatic policy and management of the worldwide military construction programs assigned to USACE as a designated DoD agent with responsibility for delivery of facilities and infrastructure supporting the Army, Air Force, and Defense Agencies. Responsibilities include strategic planning, mission area policy, leadership of the Program and Project Management Community of Practice, and resource and policy integration for all Military Program mission lines.

SITUATION

WSP and iParametrics are supporting a broad range of projects for the USACE Norfolk District and North Atlantic Division. This contract provides multidiscipline Architectural/Engineering support and other professional services to the USACE and their supported clients. Services include design, drafting, planning, programming, cost estimating, topographic or boundary surveys, on site construction management, shop drawing reviews, preparation of Request for Proposals (RFPs) for Design/Bid/Build and Design/Build projects, engineering studies, site investigations, value engineering services, subsurface geotechnical investigation, testing, reports, design services for new construction and/or renovation, demolition, and alterations of existing facilities, environmental studies, hazardous materials testing, abatement, and other design services as required.

TASK

One project, the Langley Air Force Base Cyber Operations Facility, entailed the design and construction of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility and an operational support area to conduct training and operations for the Wing’s new 185th Cyberspace Operations Squadron.


ACTION

In partnership with WSP, iParametrics supported a broad range of estimating and value engineering projects for USACE including the restoration/modernization, rehabilitation, replacement, retro-commissioning, renovation and recapitalization of military construction, historic buildings and special utility systems projects. These tasked included the design of a Cyber Operations Facility for the 192nd Fighter Wing.

RESULT

iParametrics successfully delivered phased planning, cost and value engineering and economic analysis for the aforementioned projects.
