AdventHealth North Pinellas:
Hazard Mitigation Grant Program
After sustaining damage from Hurricane Idalia, AdventHealth North Pinellas sought Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funding to harden the facility against future wind and flood events. iParametrics provided full lifecycle support for the application, from concept to submission, ensuring readiness for federal mitigation investment.
Situation
The Tarpon Springs hospital faced recurring weather threats that compromised operations. To remain fully operational during emergencies, the facility required a hardened envelope and independent power capabilities, the first of its kind in the county.
Task
iParametrics worked with AdventHealth to develop a mitigation strategy and prepare a competitive HMGP application. The primary objective was to enable the hospital to operate independently on backup power and withstand hurricane-level impacts.
Action
We coordinated across stakeholders and the LMS working group, provided SMEs and technical writing, and supported submission to FDEM. The $88.5M application included generator upgrades and facility envelope hardening, backed by detailed justifications.
Result
The project was designated as a high-priority by the LMS and submitted for HMGP review. Based on the success of this engagement, AdventHealth expanded iParametrics’ scope to include mitigation planning for 20 additional hospitals across six states.
