Utah Unified Fire Authority (UFA):

Cybersecurity Tabletop Exercise (TTX)

With growing cyber threats, Salt Lake County partnered with Utah Unified Fire Authority to enhance executive preparedness through a cybersecurity tabletop exercise (TTX). iParametrics was selected to lead the design and facilitation of the TTX, ensuring alignment with HSEEP standards and the county’s cybersecurity priorities.

Situation

Salt Lake County sought to evaluate its cyber incident response and executive coordination capabilities. The county aimed to improve strategic decision-making in the event of ransomware, breaches, or other cyber disruptions.

Task

Our objectives included creating a real-world scenario-based TTX, engaging officials and IT leaders, facilitating the exercise, and capturing lessons learned. Deliverables also included a Homeland Security-compliant After-Action Report and Improvement Plan (AAR/IP).

Action

iParametrics implemented a four-phase process: stakeholder coordination, realistic exercise scenario design, a 2.5-hour interactive TTX with hotwash debrief, and final delivery of an AAR/IP with concrete recommendations to bolster cyber resilience.

Result

The TTX helped leadership identify gaps and strengthen decision-making during cyber events. UFA and Salt Lake County praised iParametrics for delivering a thorough, relevant, and actionable exercise positioning the region for enhanced cybersecurity readiness.
