Chesterfield, Virginia: Security Assessment
Chesterfield County, a rapidly growing metro area adjacent to Richmond, Virginia, needed a security strategy that could support 350,000 residents and diverse public infrastructure. iParametrics was selected for a five-year contract to provide security consulting, risk assessments, and data-driven planning to enhance safety and operational resilience.
Situation
To compete economically and protect public services, Chesterfield needed an integrated approach to reduce exposure to crime, hazards, and threats across facilities and public infrastructure. The County faced pressure to modernize systems and increase preparedness without disrupting daily operations.
Task
iParametrics was tasked with providing comprehensive security and emergency consulting services, including physical security system design, threat and vulnerability assessments, training, planning, and analytics. We also incorporated geospatial and statistical tools to analyze exposure and inform mitigation priorities across more than 60 facilities.
Action
Our team conducted assessments across law enforcement, libraries, airports, schools, and administrative buildings. We delivered budget-ready designs, facilitated emergency training, and used GIS-based heat maps to target threats. The County later funded a Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) informed by our analysis and participated in strategic implementation planning.
Result
The County adopted a structured risk mitigation plan and began implementing multi-phase upgrades. iParametrics’ assessments and RTCC support enhanced security awareness and incident response. County leaders praised our ability to connect risk analytics with practical infrastructure improvements.
